A former professional ballerina and avid yogini, Jillian has been teaching Pilates since 1981. She met and studied with many of the first generation teachers trained by Joseph Pilates himself. In the early 1990’s, Jillian’s trademarked her B.E.A.M. Technique featured in her book, Pilates Basics. It quickly gained popularity, and she attracted the notice of numerous high-profile Los Angeles based students, eager to learn from her. Past & present Celebrity clients include Cher, Holly Hunter, Emma Thompson, Heather Graham, Lena Olin, Paul Reiser, Melinda Clarke, Rhea Perlman, Carole Kane, Amy Pietz, Jami Gertz, Wrenn Schmidt, Joanna Cassidy, TV producer David E. Kelly, film director Randa Haines, and Los Angeles philanthropists Edie Broad, Linda Resnick, and Wallis Annenberg.
Jillian works with both student and professional dancers, helping them to alleviate muscle imbalances, prevent injuries, and improve overall performance. She loves to train Pilates beginners, and has recently developed a new market of “mature” clients, who want to stay fit, active and healthy as they age with grace & beauty.
As the popularity of Pilates has exploded in recent years, Jillian earned a reputation in the Pilates Community as the “teacher’s teacher,” and she is a much sought-after presenter at fitness conventions across the country and around the world. During the 2020-21 Covid Worldwide Lockdown, Jillian curated a unique roster of national & international Zoom Clients, from all walks of life!
