"Hands-on Guidance of the Pilates Client"

With the ever-growing popularity of Pilates exercise in many diverse settings, hands-on guidance of the Pilates client has become a controversial subject. Lamentably, it is often left by the wayside, both in the training of Pilates teachers, as well as in the actual professional teaching setting. I learned to teach Pilates over thirty years ago. Back then, learning how to teach was an on-the-job apprentice position, as there was no official certification program in existence.
